[support] Moving an image from one story to another?

I'm running drupal 5.7. I've got an image as a file attachment to one story. I've got the List box unchecked and refer to it with an <img> tag in-line with the story text. Now I want to use the image in another story (also by being the target of an <img> tag). If, at some point in the future, I delete the original story, does the attached image automatically get deleted too, leaving my second <img> tag pointing to a non-existent file? -- roy@panix.com
