Drupal changes the fonts.

This is not because of drupal, it is because of the fonts installed in that computer. Drupal merely serves the markup the way you write it. Even a plain HTML page will show you the same result. With regard to using cufon or sIFR, you should have redistribution rights or license to put the font in a server before putting them in a theme. Just FYI.
