I have mistakenly defined a new block called *main menu. *Now I get 2 main menus showing up on the site. One called *block-system-main-menu *and one called *main-menu. * When I assign the block to a region both menus appear (or disappear in the case of un-assigning). I would like to delete the block named *block-system-main-menu** *but find nowhere to do that. ? I don't know whether I understand you problem, but did you try just removing your new "main-menu" block in http://example.com/admin/structure/block ? Ursula On Thu, Aug 25, 2011 at 4:48 PM, tony maciejowski <tony@tony-mac.com> wrote:

Oh Mann. So simple but I was 200% sure that when I disabled the main menu block from a region (as you pointed out) I lost the main menu too. Now I try it and the desired effect is achieved. Must be the sunspots radiating on my brain. Thanks Ursula. On Thu, Aug 25, 2011 at 9:30 PM, Ursula Pieper <dramamezzo@gmail.com> wrote:

I did change some code in the page template a few days ago setting the main menu into the header. That's when I started getting the double appearance of the main menu and 'main menu' block I had defined. After I reversed that change in the template file I did not see any change until I tried your suggestion (which I had tried umpteen times) on a different PC in a new browser session. Could this have been a cache issue? I have noticed that chrome is especially stubborn about clearing it's cache. tony mac is building web sites. -----Original Message----- From: Ursula Pieper <dramamezzo@gmail.com> Sender: support-bounces@drupal.org Date: Thu, 25 Aug 2011 21:30:16 To: <support@drupal.org> Reply-To: support@drupal.org Subject: Re: [support] Menus -- [ Drupal support list | http://lists.drupal.org/ ]
Tony, Glad the menu issue works now. When you change the page template, you need to clear the template registry of your site. The easiest is, to just clear the whole cache (and the fastest, to have a terminal open, and use drush). Additionally, you need to completely reload your page on your PC, as you have done (using shift-reload). Ursula On Fri, Aug 26, 2011 at 7:13 AM, Tony MAC <tony@tony-mac.com> wrote:

Ursula, Now I am having the same issue. I have disabled the main-menu from any region but it is still there. Any css applied to main-menu is applied to this main menu. But I can't figure out why it is appearing when I have disabled it. When I enable the main-menu I get two. I did have an issue in that I manually deleted a drupal installation and wound up with 2 DBs. I thought this might be the cause (would mean a great deal of corruption somewhere) and have now manually deleted the redundant DB but this has had no effect on the prob. Thanks Tonyh On Fri, Aug 26, 2011 at 7:49 AM, Ursula Pieper <dramamezzo@gmail.com> wrote:
