Good evening list, I'm trying to get a multinational site up but the admin part needs only English. I'm reading up on the documentation but i have a few questions, so i hope a kind soul can enlighten me: 1) localization update module: is that only needed when you need the admin part also translated? 2) for translating the content, i need to use the the Content Translation module? 3) what about buttons and such? I have the locale module enabled. -- Regards, Luc _________________________ http://www.dzinelabs.com My bookmarks: http://delicious.com/Dzinelabs

The translation of the admin part and the front end of Drupal are not separated. Drupal by its nature handles translation on a text by text basis. If the text "Save" needs translation, regardless of where it shows up, it will be displayed translated, if a translation is available in the given language. Admin or front end alike. The localization update module downloads and manages translations from localize.drupal.org, and keeps track of your own modifications.
2) for translating the content, i need to use the the Content Translation module?
That is the most used possibility, yes.
3) what about buttons and such?
Text form buttons use the same text translation features, they are not at all special. Gábor

Good afternoon Andriy, AP> just enable English for administration account and not English for any other I'm on D6 but i'm not sure if i go about that the right way: logged in as admin ---> my account ---> edit: Language settings. Is that correct? Because it says it's the language used for e-mail. -- Best regards, Luc _________________________ http://www.dzinelabs.com My bookmarks: http://delicious.com/Dzinelabs

Good evening Andriy, AP> Yes AP> In that way interface for admin account will be English and for any other AP> user - default site language Nice! That way i can set up the admin and co-admin account to have the admin only in English. Other users and visitors can change between English and other language, using the language switcher on the homepage ... Sorry if my remarks are obvious for you but it's the first time i do a multilanguage site ... -- Best regards, Luc _________________________ http://www.dzinelabs.com My bookmarks: http://delicious.com/Dzinelabs
