SUMMARY:
Trellon is seeking talented Drupal programmers to act as members of our
development team on a part time, full time, and per-project basis. The major
responsibilities for these positions include building online communities for
clients, communicating with our friendly project managers about deliverables
and timelines, and participating in the build out of several original
products based on an Application Service Provider (ASP) model. Secondary
responsibilities include providing technical support to clients and sharing
technical insights with project managers and other members of the
development team. Our company is expanding rapidly and there are excellent
opportunities for the right individuals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop online communities to meet or exceed the goals of client projects.
- Develop original Drupal modules for use in ASP products (to be released as
open source projects).
- Integrate 3rd party tools and services into the Drupal platform.
- Provide technical support to project managers and clients to include
troubleshooting and communicating bugs to Drupal project owners.
- Communicate the status of project deliverables to other members of the
team to allow for meaningful budget and timeline tracking.
- Participate in calls with clients as a technical resource.
- Render technical support to clients on new and existing projects.
- Assist with the initial construction of budgets and project timelines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-2 years experience developing Web applications with a primary focus in
PHP and MySQL.
- Working knowledge of Drupal development including theming and building
custom modules.
- Experience working with open source projects on a Linux platform.
- Ability to interact with clients through a variety of remote mediums,
including telephone, email and instant messenger.
- Self motivated individual capable of working for extended periods without
constant supervision.
- Friendly, customer oriented, capable of working in a team environment.
Candidates with demonstrated expertise in the following areas will be
strongly considered:
- Contributions to Drupal core.
- AJAX development skills, preferably using jquery.
- Information architecture and formal informatics especially in regards to a
scientific discipline.
- Testing, benchmarking, and determing the optimal configuration for servers
in an ASP environment.
- Customer support in an Application Service Provider environment.
- Political experience, including volunteer work with online advocacy
campaigns or non-profits.
- Management skills, especially in a virtual enviroment.
- Multilingual, especially Spanish, French, German and Arabic.
- Technical sales and presentation skills.
- Second Life development and external systems integration.
