Thank you for all the replies, 
 
Data import went very smoothly, did it with external tool, the same as
always. Tryed to remove all the content from cache* tables - no change.
Will try further.

Just a quick tip, for convenience, make two DB dumps: one with the table
schemas, and one with the actual data excluding the data from the cache,
watchdog, and sessions tables.

first thing I do before moving is to TRUNCATE all the cache files, watchdog,
and sessions tables, and OPTIMIZE any tables with overhead. If that gets me
below the maximum upload size, then I do not compress the data. If I have to
compress the data I do it more than once, a few minutes apart.
