In CA, the estimate was around $1k/month for myself and my wife through a broker, but it included maternity. We're both about in the middle as far as risk goes. Sounds like you might be past this point but for others reading, this might be an important one. Maternity coverage is _expensive_.

She ended up just picking up a job at a retail store she likes that offers benefits. I think we pay $200/month total for better coverage through them.
