What I'm wanting (and what node_image had) is simply to have a parallel
ability to associate images with nodes, just like we have for taxonomy terms
in taxonomy_image.  This is in practice, e.g., at gworks.ca (still running
drupal 4.4!) where nodes and terms can have their associated images (both
thumbnail, as on the main page, and full size, as on taxonomy and node
pages), with term images substituting where a node has no associated image.
