Yeah - I actually stumbled upon this quite by accident - when, after 
being inspired by the call for help this morning, I decided to actually 
look at the issues page (the link is displayed at the top of 
http://drupal.org/project/issues - BTW)

After the release of 4.7 I will have a feature request to have 'Drupal' 
appear at the top of the subscribe list BEFORE any of the contrib modules.
