AFAIK, FreeBSD offers you 4 version of MySQL in the ports :
mysql-server-3.23.59.n.20050301_1.tgz
mysql-server-4.0.24_1.tgz
mysql-server-4.1.11_1.tgz
mysql-server-5.0.3_1.tgz

So people get choice ;)
