That's the point: I consider #drupal a public place because anyone  
can join. That's a bit like a lecture in a university. Nobody  
controls who is allowed to join (except for bans); anyone can join.

Posting private conversations between two people is something  
completely different. Recording telephone calls without informing the  
person you are talking to is also illegal in Germany. But you can't  
expect that nobody records when you call at a radio station to  
comment something.
