[development] 3 Languages in one drupal site - common forum

For the situation you describe, it seems that the i18n module works just
fine. For your pages, enable multilingual support on the
admin/content/types/page, and have it disabled for forum posts. You just
need to make sure that the site multilingual display option are set
correctly for what you want under admin/settings/i18n. (I recently worked on
something similar for www.casainpiazza.ch)

Unless you have incredibly specific needs, I don't think you need to do any
modifications to the i18n module.
