This is in regards to the 'Task for Drupal Documentation Writers' posted
by Stefan. There is a wiki page set up here:
http://dev.bryght.com/t/wiki/HelpText
I will try to keep this all in one mail, but I make no promises. ;p I
also make no promise that all of this has to do with the specific task
of making the little help thingies, but it all has to do with improving
Drupal, so it's all good, right? ;p
user.module
- "?q=admin/access/rules":
o 'add rule' and 'check rules' pages;
In the add rule page, what does 'mask' mean? If you add an 'allow'
rule, does that mean any other things are denied? This also needs some
use examples so people can see why developers bothered putting it in.
taxonomy.module
- "?q=admin/taxonomy":
o 'edit vocabulary', 'add term', 'edit term' and 'preview form'.
Can we make links to help go to specific sections? In html you have an
'a name' tag, not sure what you would do in Drupalese.
node.module
- "?q=admin/node/configure/types"
o and every 'configure' page for a certain node/post type
When I change the default workflow options (ie, published, sticky, etc),
what happens to the end user? My site is in testing at the moment, so
there is only user me. ;p Is it: The end user can only pick among the
default options that are enabled, or are they stuck with the default
options they're given?
book.module
- "?q=admin/node/book/$node->id"
Why doesn't ?q=admin/node/book print out a link list of the books (and
the orphan page thing)? I have to go back to the menu to select the
book I want to edit.
I added a idea for the text on the wiki page.
menu.module
- "?q=admin/menu" and choose the 'edit' operation for a certain menu-item;
I'd like to see the edit page contain info about the menu item you are
actually editing at the top, but not sure how to implement this. The
only thing you can't change on this page is the path, so perhaps that...
