I uploaded the print optimized version, mainly for looks. The screen
optimized version is 65% smaller at 1.15mb and still very readable. Then
figure that a large percentage of the handbook would not need to be
included in core. Mainly just the first three sections: general
information, user guide, and administrator's guide (and of course the
copyright/licensing part). It might get down to a reasonable size. Hard
to say for sure.
Regardless, a pdf, publishable quality version is still useful whether
it is too big for core or not.
