Um, no. If I were the owner of a contrib module, I wouldn't want it
rewritten by someone else.
There is a spot set aside in the handbook for longer
descriptions/how-tos for contrib modules. Also, I think this would be
more best practices information: a particular set of contrib modules
might be very good for one application or approach to information
architecture, but not work for others. A good example of that is
taxonomy_menu vs. book hierarchies.
Just to be clear....+1 on putting something together, Dan.
