When people ask me what a node is, I'll tell them that a node is a  
'piece of content'.  It is important that the concept of a node is  
easy to understand.  Because some people started using the node  
system for other things, that doesn't mean we have to update the  
definition of a node.  In my view nodes are meant to be content, and  
content only.  The other cases are exceptions more than the rule.
