Shouldn't this be on the Infrastructure mailing list? ;-)

Some members do coding, documentation, etc. - so there should be a
strict separation of posts rather than users (blogs).
We can set up a vocabulary with required terms 'code', 'themes',
'documentation', 'marketing',....
This would allow us to create post listings based on these terms, so if
you wanted to you could view all the recent documentation posts,
without needing to wade through all the other posts.

Isn't this a case in which a small, pre-defined vocabulary would work
better?
I love free-tagging, but I can imagine the vocabulary splintering into
unnecessary subcategories.

Agreed, and it seems we'll soon have the disk space and bandwidth to
handle this.
Also, one of the main advantages of setting up these blogs, is that we
will be eating our own dogfood. There *will* be problems setting up
multiple blogs and integrating them with functions such as image and
file handling, but this will lead to faster development by the
community to scratch those annoying itches.

I think the community can police itself. Maybe we should add a 'report
abuse' link at the bottom of posts to make this easier.

Gerhard made a good point that not many people are going to put the
time and effort it takes to write a well written article in the hope
that it *might* be approved for posting.
