The basic advice is to help Adrian / vlado and others work on the  
install system, which will have support for install profiles.

DrupalED.org will not release a distro until install profiles are  
supported. There is lots of other work to be done in recommending  
best practices, selecting which modules to use for different purposes  
(HTMLArea vs. TinyMCE vs. FCKEditor), and other configuration and  
discussion type options.
