Earlier this week, Dries committed the admin/help text into Drupal core.
Thanks to Amazon and everyone who worked on developing that
documentation, and thanks to webchick and everyone else who assisted in
creating the script to do the update automatically. This is a milestone
for Drupal in terms of usability :)
Starting on Monday, I'll be able to begin reviewing all of the core
admin/help and getting them updated over the next week or so. I'm glad
to take on almost all of the core admin/help text myself so that others'
may begin working on the contrib module admin/help text. There are a few
modules, though, that I am not very familiar with and it would be of
help if someone else can take a look at them:
BlogAPI
Ping
Throttle
As each page is updated to 4.7, we'll need to tag it with the version
number (see previous email). This will enable us to easily see which
pages have been reviewed against 4.7 to avoid overlapping the initial
testing of the documentation against 4.7.
It is my hope that we can get at least the core admin/help updated over
the next couple of weeks (contrib modules may take longer as there are
likely to be changes to them as they are updated to 4.7). While we may
not get this updated in time for the RC, I feel confident that we can
accomplish this before the official release of 4.7.
So please everyone, make updating the admin/help to 4.7 a priority over
the next few weeks so that we can make accurate, useful documentation
available.
