There is existing information (some of lesser or greater quality) --  
e.g. robots.txt: http://drupal.org/node/22265

Simple searches on drupal found this one for me. I would recommend a  
local "teaser" (e.g. robots.txt controls what areas automated tools  
like those from Google, etc. can access. See [Robots.txt] for more  
info).
