It does not meet my need of being clear who the author is and having  
it clearly labeled as opinion, and you can't subscribe to it, and  
it's not clear how to submit or what the value is. Never mind that  
it's hard to find, rather than "go here and browse by category/title  
for articles that might prove useful".

Currently, there is more value in posting on your own site and having  
Drupal Planet syndicate...since there is no authorship in handbooks  
and no indicator of "this is the stuff I put together". Note: applies  
*only* to (my term) non-documentation work.

Ideally, a story submission queue with some nice clear categories  
points out a near term way for people to contribute, gain the pride  
of having articles accepted, and feel they are giving back without  
necessarily having to dive into our little documentation morass over  
here (although it may very well prove encouragement to come and  
help). IMHO, this would be a great way for more recipe/consulting/ 
case study/etc. etc. type articles to arise.
