Um... UTF-8 is ASCII transparent. All Unicode characters use bytes 0x80 - 0xFD. FTP ASCII mode only touches linebreaks (0x13 and/or 0x10). User is on crack / problem is elsewhere / FTP client is broken beyond belief. Steven Wittens
