Yes, we do need a place to focus the work on these issues.  I created
a wiki page to list all of these issue:

This is very true.  I very clearly remember my first core patch and
found the pleasure of seeing "by greggles" in the cvs commit log quite
addictive.  If you've never felt that happiness, I highly recommend it
and will be happy to help people towards making a patch.
