Again, I think some useful suggestions are getting lost in this big
thread. Here are a few more-or-less concrete ones:
1) Add an additional link for adding child pages to the handbook:
http://drupal.org/node/106309#comment-185777
I think this is easily done at the theme level, positioned at the top
of the page (under the title?), and maybe this link (or both this and
the one at the bottom) could even get a different name like "add new
handbook page"
I think the link to be used is: $node->links['book_add_child']
Infrastructure issue: http://drupal.org/node/107719
2) Allow doc maintainers to more easily copy nodes:
http://drupal.org/node/106309#comment-186732
infrastructure issue: http://drupal.org/node/107721
3) Integrate a CVS-based system (revisions/API module) with the
handbook: http://drupal.org/node/106309#comment-186780
My thought on this- can we imagine a hybrid system where certain
"core" or key documentation pages that make up the framework (provide
the structure) or certain basic information for the handbook are
versioned, while the pages below in the hierarchy work like the
current handbook and can be contributed separately to each version?
