Maybe another alternative is if there were any DEPs popular enough to be
linked to, we could archive them instead on groups.drupal.org in the
appropriate group. I think a large part of why DEPs weren't successful
is groups.drupal.org is a much better collaboration tool for idea
sharing, etc. so it makes sense to put them there.
