[support] Authenticating Drupal login from different database

Hi I have a project of building a new section for an existing Coldfusion
site. The would like users to only have to login to the cold fusion site but
then also gain access to the drupal site so they don't need to login again.
Just wondering if anyone has done this or what would be the best option.
