[themes] css issue

Evidently I am doing something consistently wrong and don't know enough to figure it out.  It has to do with Drupal.css and something I am doing.  Without Drupal.css it doesn't do this (but other stuff doesn't look pretty) so I'd rather figure out what it is I am doing wrong.

Obviously I am missing something basic.  Any pointers or smacks upside the head would be appreciated.  Currently the theme is live on beta.blkmtn.org.  I've allowed user registrations and turned on story type to allow for ayone to create an account or use your @drupal.org account to log on and create a story type content to see.  Happens in FF1.5 and IE6
