Issue status update for http://drupal.org/node/19451 Project: Drupal Version: cvs Component: base system Category: tasks Priority: normal Assigned to: Anonymous Reported by: JonBob Updated by: JonBob Status: patch Attachment: http://drupal.org/files/issues/descriptions.patch (18.88 KB) We have tons of different ways of phrasing module descriptions for the module listing page. This patch rephrases them all to consistently use an active verb, and cleans up some grammar and clarity issues. JonBob

Very little thing, and I could be wrong, but for the throttle module: 'Handles the auto-throttling mechanism, to control site congestion.' is the comma necessary? Guidelines sound like a marvelous idea. Perhaps included in the description of the help hook? Anisa.
'Handles the auto-throttling mechanism, to control site congestion.'
is the comma necessary?
I had much the same thought, and I decided "yes", it was. Without it, it makes it seem that the auto-throttling mechanism is the ONLY way to control site congestion, which would totally leave out the whole caching scheme also a part of Drupal. -- Morbus Iff ( oh, i wish i was a hoggle ) Technical: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/au/779 Culture: http://www.disobey.com/ and http://www.gamegrene.com/ icq: 2927491 / aim: akaMorbus / yahoo: morbus_iff / jabber.org: morbus
Hm, but... in that case, then, perhaps you should say 'Handles the auto-throttling mechanism, one way to control site congestion.' Also, I read through the whole thing, and one more thing about the throttle.module part: In the module settings description, it says, near the end: 'This mechanism is utilized by other Drupal models to automatically optimize their performance by temporarily disabling CPU-intensive functionality.' What are these Drupal models? Perhaps it means Drupal modules? Anisa. Morbus Iff wrote:

Yeah, but the first thing I'd do as an editor is to remove "one way", because they're garbage words <g>.

Quite correct. This is a typo. -- Morbus Iff ( two! four! six! eight! who do god and jesus hate! ) Technical: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/au/779 Culture: http://www.disobey.com/ and http://www.gamegrene.com/ icq: 2927491 / aim: akaMorbus / yahoo: morbus_iff / jabber.org: morbus

Please define garbage words. I think you've said that before, so an explanation would be helpful for me. :)

Ara, ara. ;) You mean you didn't read the whole patch before +1'ing it? ^.^ Just kidding. Anisa.
