[drupal-support] Help with Organic Groups

Greetings, I'm trying to setup og.module and I have some questions. 1) I want the groups to be selective. Can a manager add users or do users have to subscribe themselves? 2) What are some good use cases for og.module and what other modules work well with it? 3) Can taxonomy_access.module be tied with it easily? Hi, I posted http://drupal.org/node/19606 this and am wondering if anyone can give me hints. It seems pretty obvious that the DB is out of sync. I'm not surprised because I tried using OG with Node Privacy ByRole and that didn't work at all. But now I need to know if this is fixible or if I need to start from scratch. Any help appreciated. You could assume that nodes will vary in height. What I don't understand is how to do this logic: "if (odd(nid)) put_node_on_left else put_node_on_right" I am sure there are better strategies to determine which node to display where, but odd/even is the first one that came to mind right now. It seems like this would have to be done in node.module itself and not the theme, or am I mistaken here? Hello, Does anyone here have a theme which has multiple regions (besides left, right and center blocks) implemented? I need to create a theme with the following layout: [left block 1] [node 1] [node 2] [right block 1] [left block 2] [node 3] [node 4] [right block 2] etc... :) Regards, Kobus

[drupal-support] Can't get drupal out past port forwarding

Hi - I've been using a drupal site for a year now (for another open source project, ebase.org), but I'm setting up my own now for the first time. I've got the site all built, and when I tried to go live I found I can't get it out past my router! Details at: http://drupal.org/node/19574 Basically, apache's confirmed working successfully on a port other than 80, and drupal works fine on this port on my LAN, but from outside it doesn't work. I've searched the archives both of this list and of the support forums, but not found any post that deals with my specific situation. Hi. I noticed that I can't edit polls submitted by other users than me. After a quick search, I found this: http://drupal.org/node/17680 However, the bug report doesn't have any reply. I'd several post of type page, but now, I need to switch them to type book in order to make them sorteable by weigth and not only by posting date. Team, I am loading drupal on window xp. I have installed the following versions of software: apache_1.3.33-win32-x86-no_src.exe php-4.3.10-installer.exe mysql-4.1.10a-win32.zip I tested with a sample php file connecting to Mysql-->Drupal database. It is working fine. I downloaded drupal-4.5.2.tar.gz and extracted the contents to: C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache\htdocs\drupal-4.5.2 I have made the following changes to: C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache\htdocs\drupal-4.5.2\includes\conf.php: $db_url = "mysql://devuser@localhost/drupal"; $base_url = "http://localhost"; I have copied C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache\htdocs\drupal-4.5.2\index.php to C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache\htdoc\index.php. [drupal-support] How to upgrade between Drupal 4.6 RC releases?

I'd like to 'upgrade' my install of 4.6 with a new version/build, but I see warnings about not just over-writing files when upgrading from 4.5 to 4.6, and that's sorta what I was planning on doing... Is there are certain procedure to follow? Can I just backup my database and my files, and overwrite the old cvs files with new stuff? (again, this is not from 4.5 to 4.6, it's older 4.6 rc to new 4.6 rc) Anisa.
