[drupal-support] How to handle the www subdomain?

I have an apache server running Drupal 4.6 and php 4.10. I notice that when my domain is accessed via www.mydomain.com, it has a different user session than my domain at mydomain.com (with no www subdomain). In other words, I can be logged in at mydomain.com yet logged out at www.mydomain.com and vice versa. I notice this isn't the case at drupal.org, however. When I log out at www.drupal.org, I also get logged out from drupal.org. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? Do I need two settings.php files and change a php setting or two? Or is this an apache configuration issue?

[drupal-support] about the new search feature and db upgrade

Sorry if I'm spamming these days but I've nearly completed my to-do list and ready to replace my site with the new code. The two questions I've left: 1- I'm currently using drupal 4.5.2 and I run constantly the upgrade script of 2004-12-20 in oder to fix the count of the comments. When I go with the last upgrade what should I choose? When I tried the first time I selected 2004-12-05 but when I ran cron I got a list of errors (about the search function). So what is the correct choice? Should I go back at 2004-10-31 that is 4.5.0 even if my db is 4.5.2? 2- The new search module doesn't work anymore on comments? And if does why a selective search isn't anymore possible? -HRose / Abalieno

I cannot find the part of the code that produces the pager at the bottom of each page. I need to add and tweak the spaces to make them as they were before but I cannot find where is that bit of code. -HRose / Abalieno

[drupal-support] mass ownership change

In my Drupal, I had several posts did by user 'admin' (id 1). Yesterday i create a new user to use for posting. Cause I can't do a massive ownership change I edited directly the DB: update node set uid = 3 where uid = 1 (where 3 is the uid of the new user). Now if I login as the new user, I can't edit the pages submitted in the db. Did I miss something to change? Regards maykel

[drupal-support] should I block this IP?

so, I just redid my site after server crash, and I got this error in my logs: scripts/..\\../winnt/system32/cmd.exe not found I realize this is probably some thingy trying to find a vulnerability... and, you know, since I don't have that vulnerability, I really wasn't affected, but it's hardly a nice thing to do. Should I be concerned? Should I block this IP (at some point, right now I don't care ^.^;)? Anisa. PS: Thank you all for the automated backup help stuff! I will look into it. :)

[drupal-support] automatically do database backups?

So, the other day, my server's database completely crashes. They restored it, but you know.. scary stuff. And of course, while I could imagine files mysteriously disappearing, and kept backups of all that, I never thought about the database, so I was backupless. But it's a pain to manually do regular backups, any ideas on how to automate it? I use mysql, and normally access it with phpmyadmin. That is, if there are any good ideas that don't involve cron jobs. ^.^: Anisa.
