[drupal-support] how to resize htmlarea

Hi all, I was just installed Drupal 4.6.0 and htmlarea 4.6.0 according to their respective instructions. Everything looks great! Thanks a lot for this great product. At present I have some small problems to which I haven't found any proper answers in forum or this mailing list. 1. how to resize the default htmlarea when I do "create content"? I successfully changed the height or width of the plain textarea. but this htmlarea seems reluctant to change a bit, even when I attempt to do "maximise the editor", a toolbar button on htmlarea. 2. how to change the layout of "create content" page? It has too many options scattered all over the page, with the most important input box somewhere in the middle. i expect to make the input area as evident and large as possible, and put all options together at the foot of the page. 3. the "calendar block for browse archive" seems to only search with UTC time. so when i click on a date, it would be sorting out nodes on a different day. 4. how to let "calendar block for browse archive" only sort out certain type of nodes, say blog. because browing archive is most useful when you want to check you blog rather than other types of content. Greatly appreciate if anybody could help on these problems. Best regards, zZ

Does the core file upload mechanism provide a way to display a download link, or must the author of the node figure out the link based on the url displayed on the edit page?

[drupal-support] garbled characters on website

i created a website on an ISP by FTPing my drupal folder. the site worked fine for a day, then it began to display junk characters on all pages. (http://benegal.org/drupal). so then i created a sub-domain and ftp'ed again. this worked fine for a day and then garbled characters again (http://kalki.benegal.org). It seems if i either rename the themes folder to something else, it starts working. Now what i do is to change the default theme, and the site works (for this i have to type ?q=admin/themes in the URL, and login again). Then the garbled characters stop. (If even _this_ page comes garbled, then the only option is to rename themes to OLDTHEMES, and then rename it back. Can anyone tell me how to stop this, and whats going on anyway. on my local machine, the site works fine. -- Warm Regards, Rahul

[drupal-support] Textile not applied after upgrade

I am upgrading a 4.5.2 site to 4.6. After upgrading, nodes that were textiled are no longer textiled. The edit tab shows that they are of input format "Textile". That input format applies just a single filter: Textile, and without tags. This has happened to me before during earlier upgrades. Eventually (after continuing work adding contrib modules), Textile was again applied to nodes, but I never understood why it stopped being applied, nor why it resumed being applied. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks, Cheryl

[drupal-support] glossary links broken in 4.6?

I'm upgrading a 4.5.2 site to 4.6. Glossary module highlights terms, and produces correct definition for cursor hover. But clicking (http://mysite.com/glossary#nnn) produces a page not found. Anyone know what's up with this? Cheryl

Is the Taxonomy Access Control module the only 4.6, (well sort of 4.6) access control module that limits access to taxonomy categories? I was waiting to try it and with the other great advances in 4.6 thought I'd take the plunge. I was surprised to find the instructions calling for a patch (the instructions didn't work for me). Is this the recommended module for access control now? - kent

[drupal-support] Can't download attachments?

I've just installed an instance of drupal 4.6 (I'm running several live copies of earlier drupal versions). I've enabled upload.module, and a user has uploaded an excel spreadsheet. The file was correctly uploaded, and I can see it in /files. I can also see it when I click "edit" for the node. But when the node is displayed there is no download link, and no indication of an attached file. How are visitors to download? Problem in Permissions? Theme?
