different header text for each view?

Hi, I have a view that provides different pages of information based on selected taxonomy. Right now there is some intro text above it that is populated in the header section of the view. However when you do that the same text appears on each page. Is there a way to make this change per page? I thought about a block but I can't put that between the header and the content. .s

overriding function in template.php

Hi, i sent out an email with a question related to overriding functions in template.php a couple of days ago. Maybe i was unclear or so, but no one ever responded. However, i am not the only one who got a little confused. So maybe, if any of the experts could post a response to the issue at: http://drupal.org/node/173282#comment-279725 i would greatly appreciate it. Also, is it possible to 'subscribe' to an issue? I.e. is it possible to get notified when someone post a reply? thanks mat

Besides usage metrics or maintenance metrics etc which can be tricky, there is a need for more detailed multiple categorization, mapping similar modules, categorizing by subtle differences in functionality, e.g. access control of what, for what operations, by whom, or mail modules useful for a newsletters or a mailing lists or for notification... mapping sets of modules into different trends/frameworks etc >From such as procedure some kinds of information may turn out to become obsolete fast, in which case they will deserve less attention, while other kinds of information may be found to represent stable trends. Such a thing has been in the slow works. There is hope that http://drupal.org/project/metrics may be installed on d.o. eventually. OG - Allowing non-members to see non-public posts

I have a scenario where I'd like to limit posts visibility to group members only AND to a specific role as well. Using OG alone I can achieve the first goal - posts are not public by default and that settles it. Now I need to allow users of a specific role to see all posts, whether they're public or not, even if those users are not members of the group. I've tried og_user_role with ACL and content_access, but had no success.... Is there a module I missed that allows it? Hello, I don't think this is a good idea. You should not think "Drupal.org does a bad job at organizing the info" but rhater ask yourself "why does the Drupal comm. not manage to get the module info organized". The answer, is amoungst others that contribs are highly dynamic. Each new release causes earthshattering shifts in the contribs which become popular used and which die. Even troughout a release cycle you see this. Continuïty is not something found in most of the contribs. This, however is a totally different discussion not to be confused with this thread :). The forums is really the place where you want to be. Drupal is before all, a community. Drupal is not a reference. Nor a book. It is not an ecyclopeadia, and also not a recipe book. You should rather learn to use that community to get to your information. In practice this means that you must lie around for weeks, if not longer and listen. Ask a question here and there, play with some of hte info you get, learn from that, and re-use that for more information. This, is my experience, works far better then hoping for some magical gnome to pop up and write down exactly, and only the specific parts, for your specific project. That won't happen. But the collaborative knowledge is out there: Its up to you to shape that knowledge into the information you need for your project. And yes, that requires *a big* lot of time. I am embarking on a major project for a global NGO (www.iofc.org), migrating their websites from a custom-built CMS into Drupal. Our preparations involve assessing which modules fit our myriad of needs best. Does anyone know of a website which specialises in listing and evaluating Drupal modules (drupal.org doesn't do this very intuitively, even if a lot of info is there somewhere)? I even wondered about setting up a special website for this purpose which could become a useful resource for those hunting for functionality. Would anyone be interested in such a thing? Hiding nodes in long threads

Some of our bloggers write really long posts. If those posts get a lot of comments, it can be a bit confusing to the user who clicks on the "next" link in the pager, because instead of more comments, he at first sees the long post, which he then has to know (or figure out) to scroll down beyond. To get around this, I put the following in our node.tpl.php to hide the node on page=2, 3, etc. <?php $blanknode = $_SERVER['QUERY_STRING']; if ($node->nid){ if (stristr($blanknode, 'page')!== FALSE) {echo '<style> .node {display:none;}</style>';} ;} ?> What I know about good coding could fit in a thimble, however, so would there be a better way to do this? Can't Install Token

I have a brand new 5.2 install and I tried to install the Token module (http://drupal.org/project/token) and I get: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare token_install() (previously declared in /home/site/www/modules/token/token.install:5) in /home/site/www/sites/all/modules/token/token.install on line 4 I took the 'official' release of Token: 5.x-1.8. Any ideas?

You have token installed twice once at www/modules/ and once at www/sites/all/modules/.
