Forum topic side-wide contact from not emailing the user's email while sending the email has been updated.

Dear Community, When some one (authenticated user or anonymous user) uses the site wide contact form, I do get the email, however, the email does not include the value entered in the email field (for anonymous user).. It only includes the subject, Name, and the Message. The problem is I cannot contact the anonymous users as I don't get their email address that they entered while submitting the form. Is the a way i can fix it. Thanks, -Nabil.

Cannot edit node after upgrading to Drupal 6

Hello Drupal Community, I upgraded my blog from Drupal 5 to Drupal 6, after the upgrade there was a lot of changes I made to the my blog like path of the images I used in my blog and some css styles. When I tried to update some nodes using the new path of the images and css styles, it gives me error 406. I can edit the node but everytime I hit the preview and save button, the page will then redirected to this error: The page you requested does not exist. For your convenience, a search was performed using the query /406 shtml/. Please take note that I'm using search 404 module. I don't know what seems to be the problem causing drupal to behave like this. Please help me. Regards, Richard R. Cahilig

Canned Search

I've been tasked with creating a search feature for a large site that utilizes Apache Solr, and I'm looking for some ideas on how to construct it. If I end up writing some custom code, it will definitely be contributed back to the community. The idea is to created a canned search, where an editor can create a search with predefined criteria and save it. and then when the user navigates to a certain page defined by the search, the results from this search are displayed. So, for instance, if I have a node type of Event that contains a date field for the event, an editor could create a predefined search for all events that fall on a certain date, and when a user navigates to that page (or another predefined page), the search results are displayed. Our initial thought had been to have a content type called canned_search, and and editor would create one with the predefined fields and their criteria. We would then hook into the submit function for that content type and get the data from Solr. On display, we would modify the content type to show the search results instead of the search criteria. However, I can't help but think that there would be a better way to do this. Either way, the trickiest issue is allowing the editor to specify which fields to include in the search, and then what values he can enter for each field. I'm envisioning some sort of AJAXy thing where the editor picks from a list of possible categories, and then a field next to it would be used to enter the criteria itself. There would be a More button that the user could click on to add another criteria field, and he could keep doing that as many times as is needed. So I'm looking for suggestions on how to implement this. Does anybody know of any modules that might do this part way? I'd be willing to add to already existing modules, too. Thanks. Steve

Token Authentication module does not seem to be working

I am using Drupal 6.13 and Token Authentication module 6.x-1.3. My site is set up so that unauthenticated users can learn about our school but staff, parents, and students can log in so that they can get detailed information about upcoming events and other news items that only pertain to people who attend. I created an RSS feed to help keep our staff, parents, and students up to date on new or updated items on our site. I want them to be able to see content in their RSS feed from the private side of our network in their RSS readers even though they are not logged in. Token Authentication looked like just the right module. I installed it, turned it on, turned on the appropriate permissions, and it does not seem to work. I can see the tokens on the users account page. I am using the following format to see the feed: http://www.mysite.org/taxonomy/term/1/0/feed?token=1234567890 If I look at the feed in IE 7 I can only see the latest content from the public side of my site. If I log into the site in another tab then I can see the latest content from the private side mixed in with the public content. It is like drupal is ignoring the token. I can see the token in the page request in the apache files. I don't get any errors. On the Site Configuration - Token Authentication page I have the following "activate tokens on specific pages" set: rss.xml */feed */opml * I added the lone "*" hoping that would make it work on every page but to no avail. My thinking is that the "*/feed" setting should all I need. Has anyone else been able to get this to work???? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance, Doug P.S. I did install the token module, even though it is not listed as a dependent, but it did not help. Does anyone have any ideas

Newbie on Drupal 6.13 here. Which Views module should I use?

I'm a newbie on Drupal. I've installed 6.13 and have configured a few modules, both core and contributed, getting my feet wet. I'm wanting to put together a social networking type of site, and Organic Groups seems like a definite module I will need. However, OG and many other modules seem to rely on Views, plus I'm sure that I will want to utilize Views for many of the things I want to do elsewhere on the site, so I figured I would get up to speed on Views before I try to tackle OG. My question is, which version of Views should I start with? Views 1 or Views 2? And what would be the best how-to documentation or tutorial to help me out with this? I'm a little lost, so any and all help is greatly appreciated... TIA, David

access content summary option not available

Hi All, I'm following the this (http://drupal.org/node/408018) tutorial to creating categorized content and at the end of item 6 it says "Finally, under the module_grants section tick “access content summary” for authenticated users. Press “Save permissions”." But under User management>>Permissions>>module_grants module I see only the followings access 'All' tab access 'I can edit' tab access 'I can view' tab access 'I created' tab access 'I last modified' tab access 'Published' tab access 'Unpublished' tab I don't see the 'access content summary' option. Am I missing something here or has this option been renamed to something else? I'm on drupal 6.13 Thanks, Dhanushka.

Best way to deploy Drupal

support(a)drupal.org: I've been searching for a comfortable CMS for years. I deployed a personal Drupal site ~20 months ago and have been fumbling my way along, learning as I go (http://holgerdanske.com/). I recently worked my way through "Using Drupal", and have come to realize Drupal's GUI CMS RAD nature. Slick, but... My current development-test-deployment process is as follows: 1. Log in to the production server and take a backup using Backup and Migrate. 2. Lock out the users. 3. Hack. 4. Do some manual testing. If testing fails, either: a. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until I succeed, then let the users back in. b. Restore. I'm now running Drupal sites for other people, and need a better process. I'm looking for Drupal features/ tools that allow me to: 1. Export settings, content, uploaded files, etc. (e.g. everything "dynamic") from the production server and import the same into a development machine. 2. Export additions, changes, fixes, etc., as deltas from the development machine and import them into a test/ staging machine. 3. Import validated delta(s) into the production server, quickly and easily, with the ability to revert. (Referential integrity will need to be solved, or precluded.) I would prefer that exports and imports be in the form of a directory tree of files in suitable standard formats, so that the full range of command-line tools can be brought to bear -- version control, backup, archive, mv, cp, diff/patch, hand editing, scripting, etc.. I would prefer that the export/ import functionality be available via both a Drupal administration control panel and via command-line utilities. STFW, this is not a new issue: http://lists.drupal.org/pipermail/support/2009-July/012439.html I'm wondering what the Drupal project has in mind for solving it, when, and for who (e.g. 4.x? 5.x? 6.x? 7.x?)? Apache issues with Drupal .htaccess

I know this is more of an Apache issue, but I'm hoping someone in the Drupal world has seen this too since it has to do with the default .htaccess in Drupal. On my MacBook Pro, I installed Apache/MySQL/PHP using MacPorts. I'm running PHP 5.2.9 and Apache 2.2.11. It works great, except for a couple things. For some reason, the .htaccess file cannot have the following lines in it: # PHP 5, Apache 1 and 2. <IfModule mod_php5.c> php_value magic_quotes_gpc 0 php_value register_globals 0 php_value session.auto_start 0 php_value mbstring.http_input pass php_value mbstring.http_output pass php_value mbstring.encoding_translation 0 </IfModule> When they are, I get the following error message in my Apache error log: /Users/steve/Sites/myartleague/.htaccess: php_value not allowed here However, if I comment them out and put them in httpd.conf, I don't get the error. However, this is a pain, since I have to modify the .htaccess any time it's updated. What's odd is that I have AllowOverride All set in httpd.conf. You can see it at http://pastebin.com/m4e09f963. In addition to that, extensions only work with separate .ini files. For instance, xdebug will only work if I have xdebug.ini in /opt/local/var/db/php5. If I have the xdebug settings in php.ini, they are not recognized. They are only recognized in the xdebug.ini. phpinfo shows a "Scan this dir for additional .ini files " setting with a value of /opt/local/var/db/php5, which apparently seems to mean that that directory has to be used. If anyone can shed some light on why I might be having these issues, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. Steve

Zen Classic Question

Drupal 6.13. I wanted to do a new theme based on Zen Classic. I followed the instruction and everything is working under my new theme name except Theme Specific Setting. The setting page doesn't show Breadclumb setting. I have gone through theme-setting.php, info file, and template files to see if I left out renaming somewhere but I just can't find it.
