I'm using Drupal 7 and our live site is under attack as usual. The [Reports] [Recent Log Messages] provides IP addresses which I run thru whois but with limited success. Is ther a way to use Views to filter log messages and provide a print out? TIA Roger

D7 - Hiding Main Menu / Menu-Items

Dear All In Drupal 7, one can hide the main menu items with proper permission setting. In a typical job recruitment site, I have 4 kind of roles 1. Anonymous users 2. Authenticated users 3. Employers 4. Administrator I want to show some menu , menu-items to only authenticated users but not to employers. With current setup and permission tweak this is not possible. Lets take an example. I have a job_search module. It provides only two pages for job search. The first page is just a form, and other page just shows result. Lets say I have defined permission 'job search' in hook_permission of job_search module. For both these pages, the access argument given (in menu hook), is 'job search'. Say for authenticated users, I have set the permission for 'job search'. So far so good. The authenticated users can see the job search pages and corresponding result page. Now how do I stop users with role seeing job search menu / menu-items . Please help somebody. Thanks kamal

Drupal commerce

Hello I need to get financial reports out of Drupal 7 Commerce module data. mysql displays the data from: select * from commerce_paypal_ipn; select * from field_data_field_donation_amount; I have problems getting views to provide the same data. It seems there is no way to select those tables. I cannot find which relationship/s to use. Is there any easy way of gathering reconciliation/financial and tax data for the accountant? Is there any way to show weekly totals for from receipts and from paypal? Strangely there seems to be no mention on Google about getting data, only tuts on setting up commerce. I really appreciate help in understanding the commerce set up and how to gather and display data from inputs. Thanks in advance Roger

Better select in Drupal 7

Hi All As per http://drupal.org/node/488520 , I downloaded betterselect and patched using git for Drupal 7 support. Then when I checked site, I found better select is working, but look wise looks bit odd. All the items it shows up in site. Normally one will expect it should have a vertical scrollbar and only few items it should show. My observation is even if you have 1000 items, it will show all the 1000 items in page without vertical scrollbar. If you know how can I enforce a vertical scroll bar for case of better select elements and enforce only few elements to show up, please share. Thanks kamal NECS, Bangalore

Drupal 7 Error

>From a rank beginner, I just installed D7, uploaded some new modules, and am now getting this error, no matter what I try to do, from running update.php, to clicking the Configuration link. I get logged in OK. PDOException: SQLSTATE[42S02]: Base table or view not found: 1146 Table '973931_d217.cache_update' doesn't exist: SELECT cache_update.cid AS cid, cache_update.data AS data, cache_update.created AS created, cache_update.expire AS expire, cache_update.serialized AS serialized FROM {cache_update} cache_update WHERE (cache_update.cid LIKE :db_condition_placeholder_0 ESCAPE '\\') ; Array ( [:db_condition_placeholder_0] => available_releases::% ) in _update_get_cache_multiple() (line 823 of /srv/disk4/973931/www/1.mosswebs .com/modules/update/update.modul e). It seems a table is missing. How do I create that? Via PHPMyAdmin? Thanks, John

Connecting to a non-system-wide drupal database

I'm a total drupal noob, but a long-time CGI/Web/database programmer. When I installed drupal, the first things I wanted to do was to understand drupal in terms of the file structure and also to access the drupal MySQL database independent of drupal itself - I.E. - from either bash via mysql client or via an API. I use python.MySQLdb in this example. The installation of drupal by acquia and the bitnami stack on Mac OSX puts the data storage at a different location than the default mysql installation. So to use the MySQL client one has to use the -S option to pass the drupal socket file and the -P option to pass the port number. mysql -hlocalhost -uroot -p****** -P3307 -S/Applications/drupal-7.15-0/mysql/tmp/mysql.sock ## NOTE: /Applications/drupal-7.15-0/mysql/tmp/mysql.sock is the socket file and the drupal instance of the mysql client listens at port 3307. Two different API connections (using the mysql shared object approach) and the python MySQLdb API first, load the MySQLdb API source import MySQLdb ## 1)Using root as user conn = MySQLdb.connect(db='bitnami_drupal7',host='localhost',user='root', passwd='rootpassword',read_default_file="/Applications/drupal-7.15-0/mysql/my.cnf") ## 2)Using the bitnami user created in the installation and from the ## $databases array in sites/default/settings.php conn=MySQLdb.connect(db='bitnami_drupal7',host = 'localhost', user='bitnami',passwd='bitnamipassword', read_default_file="/Applications/drupal-7.15-0/mysql/my.cnf") Note that in both cases we pass the 'read_default_file' keyword with the value of the drupal mysql option file : /Applications/drupal-7.15-0/mysql/my.cnf But the `passwd' value will be different for the different users. :) And use user 'root' at yer own peril. Getting this together was some work for me and perhaps this as archived might save someone else some time. Hi to all. Please, take a look at http://www.europeanfootballschool.com/ On the right side on the home page, there are Testimonials. How can I remove "Submitted by / on..." part? Actually, I would like to remove the linked title too. I would like to have just a testimonial and the name as a part of the testimonial.
