How to disable a wrong block when the site doesn't work

Hi Following a suggestion from a developer, I just added a PHP block to my site's default theme, and now the site cannot be accessed Fatal error: Call to undefined function: stock_do_quote() in /home/canalpda/public_html/includes/common.inc(1342) : eval()'d code on line 2 I need to disable that new block so everything works again. How can I access the site admin, probably using another theme or no theme at all so the bad block is disabled? I'm helping build an "internal" site for the families and staff of a small, parent run school. I'm looking for some suggestions on how to implement the following structure. The site I'm developing will have a number of working groups who will collaborate via the site -- an obvious use for Organic Groups. Another section of the site will allow families (students, parents, guardians) to post pages about themselves to help build the social network and fabric of the school. Each family's pages should be controlled and edited only by them. Again, Organic Groups *could* do the job here, but I'm wondering if anyone has any other suggestion to implement perhaps a My Space-like section for the families? Thanks for any suggestions, especially for modules which might help out. ..chrisxj

Newbee: How should I plan this?

I am still far from being comfortable with Drupal. Here is a problem case I need to solve. I have huge list of musicians who have played for my past gigs and recordings. Many of them has their own website. Some of them will be listed for future shows. I would like to create 3 sections, Discography, Musicians, and Schedule, where I want to call names from the list of musicians along with its hyperlink for their site. I've got CCK and View, but I am not certain how I should plan this. It doesn't matter to Drupal. When they're installed, CCK finds them. I find it nicer to put them as subfolders in the CCK folder just so _I_ can remember what they're for and which ones I have easily. From what I can tell from a quick look at your site, I think it would be a pretty simple task and probably open your site up to a few basic features that will make your life easier. Your site is as straight forward of a conversion as they get. Between the standard node system for publishing new articles, and maybe taking advantage of the member and profile modules, you'll cut back a lot of your administration. The addition of the standard Drupal RSS will also help you push your content further out. Posting photos to your articles would get easier as well, with the CCK or just plain Image (with image_attach) modules. Posting new content to the site will feel just like writing an email if you build it right. But I can't comment on Hebrew text generation. I have never used Drupal to publish right-left text. Thanks Sean for the reply. I do hope you are right about how easy it is. The right to left language can be a problem because my html is more messy because of having to put dir=RTL tags everywhere . I'll ask also in drupal.org.il for there opinion . A bit off subject but except of people using RSS software is there any other importance to RSS feeds ? Emmanuel

Kabissa drinks the koolaid - please advise - and volunteer? - on joomla to drupal migration

Dear friends! Yes, the Kabissa team has been drinking the koolaid lately, and we're feverishly working to migrate our Joomla site to Drupal. In the coming weeks we will be moving our content over and moving our member database into civicrm and a "web 2.0" style member directory. As some may recall, we initially planned to do this with Joomla/civicrm (our specs are still up on the civicrm.org site) but have now decided to shift to Drupal/civicrm. I've been looking at the "Migrating from Joomla/Mambo" guidebook page here: http://drupal.org/node/80195 It helps, but does not provide a script/recipe for actually migrating the site. I outlined what I'm trying to migrate and the steps that seem to be required in a comment to that page, here: http://drupal.org/node/80195#comment-232717 I know this will not be a turnkey affair, but still I feel that it could be made easier. Perhaps others on this list have had better luck (or know somebody who has). I'd be massively grateful for any advice from others that have been through this before us, or a volunteer to work with us on the actual migration and to expand on the guidebook page. I suspect that folks will be migrating their community websites in droves as they realize what Drupal 5.1 can do, and we need to be more welcoming to them. Site layout with drupal

I am using drupal 5 (since 4.x or so) and while it's easy to install and setup as well as add various content types I am still struggling with trying to figure out how to do the overall site layout. Let's say I want to have a generic news/blog (that works out of the box) but I also want distinct (example) sections for Music (my audio files etc.), computers/linux (setup, progamming projects etc.), Sports etc. When I say distinct I mean at least obviously distinct in navigation menu, possibly distinct themes/styles/modules enabled etc. I know I can simply create a book and add the top page to the menu but I'd like to hear about something better - how do other people do it? It seems taxonomy might do it - do I want a separate vocabulary for each section? Related: I see that drupal.org has location line displayed at the top of the page, e.g.: Home » Image galleries » Drupal Where does that come from? That kinda looks like what I think of as sections (i.e. Image galleries section within Drupal). TIA, erik

Hello Drupalers , I'm the web designer of a chess club 'static' site www.jeruchess.com and though there is no real need to make it dynamic I think it can save time on updating the site. (instead of manualy linking a new post in 3 different places , make the updates show aotomaticlly in 3 as many section needed). Feel free to have a look (though it's basicly in hebrew.) and tell me if you think it will be an easy conversion to Drupal . I would like to have the same design aprox.
