Size of H1, H2, etc. is too small in Drupal

I have just installed Drupal 5.0 on my Slackware 11 system and I'm just playing at the moment to see if it suits my/our requirements. One thing that has struck me immediately is that I can't get big headings using <H1> tags. 'Naked' HTML files with <H1> tags give text that's much bigger (I'd guess about twice as big). In general I'm finding the Content entry ability of Drupal to be a bit weak, that's where my users will need most help. How does one lay out a page with a number of paragraphs and headings and maybe some lists etc.? -- Chris Green (chris(a)halon.org.uk)

Search an external MSQL table?

Hi, I am working with a functioning Drupal site and have been asked to add an additional MYSQL table (book/resource library items) and a SIMPLE entry, edit and search form. I want the users to be able to search on several fields at once always with a %like% argument. Also, I need some simple results control (i.e. max items per page). Are there any Drupal-friendly PHP snippets that I could use to do this? My MYSQL table is up and running so I only need the scripts. Any suggestions are welcome. -John

Viewing taxonomy pages truncates entries - started after upgrade to 5

Hello, I'll try to explain this the best I can. I've got a taxonomy term 'Dinosaurs' for a site I'm working on: http://beta.menashalibrary.org/taxonomy/term/6 When I was running 4.7.4, that page showed the full entries for each page containing the category of dinosaurs. Since I've upgraded to 5, I noticed that all the entries are truncated and have a 'read more' link on them. Is that a setting I can turn off? I'd rather just display the entire thing rather than a very short part of it. - jody

Removing the "Request New password" in the login

hello all, Our site is not using auto email and hence I want to remove the "Request New password"* *link in the user login form on the front page since it serves no purpose. I am using Drupal5.0 and the theme is democratica. multi-site question

Hi Folks, Just tried to install a 2nd site on a Drupal 5 installation, using a common codebase, but a separate database: - running on a separate IP address - created a separate mysql database - setup the Apache information - created a sites/secondhost directory - copied sites/default/settings.php into the new directory - edited settings.php to point to the new database - restarted apache When I try to access the site, I get a screen full of errors, starting with: *Warning*: Table 'gd.access' doesn't exist query: SELECT CASE WHEN status=1 THEN 0 ELSE 1 END FROM access WHERE type = 'host' AND LOWER('24.60.167.199') LIKE LOWER(mask) ORDER BY status DESC LIMIT 0, 1 in */var/drupal/includes/database.mysql.inc* on line *167* It looks like Apache is going to the common codebase, and Drupal is finding the proper settings file, but.... Drupal doesn't seem to realize this is a new installation, and doesn't try to run the initialization routines to create and populate tables. If I delete settings.php, it tries to log into my default site. So... how do I get Drupal to initialize the new site? Thanks much, Miles Fidelman

Open menu item in a new window? (drupal 5)

Is it possible to open a menu item in a new window (in drupal 5.0)? IIRC the menu used to be (in 4.5 or so) just a list of links in html format so opening it in a new window was just a matter of adding target="_blank" however now the "Add menu" dialog asks for link and I don't see any setting that would make it possible to adjust how it's open. new installation of Drupal 5 not finding gd

Hi, I just installed a brand new Drupal 5, on a Debian Sarge box. The admin script is reporting "The GD library for PHP is missing or outdated" (everything else reports ok). The thing is, I think I have gd installed properly and as up to date as the current package library provides (apt-get upgrade php4-gd reports that I'm up to date). So... any thoughts or suggestions? - do I need a later version of gd? - is it perhaps something in the search path (pointers or diagnostic suggestions much appreciated) - what doesn't work if I don't have gd properly installed? hello, this may sound dumb, but I haven't been able to figure out how to apply an alias to a story in drupal5. It used to be quite easy in 4.7... Where? How? Thanks FnL
