Hi Jason, I have a control panel, and checked, but there is no link to logs. There is however a logs folder when I log in to the FTP site. I will check it and see if that contains anything worthwhile. Most hosting companies should provide you your own access/error log (for your domain). Do you have a control panel where you can download/ view those? Hi Simon, Thanks, yes, I have done those things. I have placed an index.html file there, and that displays fine. index.php (non-drupal) displays fine. My host has since told me that it can not find settings.php (the config file), but I have checked, the file is there, it is correct (not mal-formatted, or anything), and I have even replaced it from scratch. Still not working... I have asked the hosts to go over the permissions for me. 403 Forbidden error when using multiple sites, one drupal

Hello, I'm trying to setup my drupal installation to have multiple sites. So, in my sites directory, I copied the default directory as menashalibrary.org. I created a new database for that site, and modified the settings.php file in the menashalibrary.org directory to point to the database. But, when I go to the url for the site: http://www.wals.lib.wi.us/drupal/sites/menashalibrary.org I get a 403 forbidden error. Looking at my server logs, I get this: [error] [client 172.30.2.145] Directory index forbidden by rule: /var/www/html/drupal/sites/menashalibrary.org/ I've looked at the forums and instructions online for this, and I'm very confused. What am I doing wrong? - jody

Strange issue

Hi all! I have a very strange issue, and my host INSISTS the problem is with the PHP code of Drupal (can you believe that - I know Drupal well enough to know it is not!) Here is the situation: Thursday, 7 Sept 2006, ~ 17:45 GMT+2: Site worked FINE! I have just uploaded it, made some minor adjustments to the configuration file, and then continued to browse the site, simply checking for spelling mistakes and ommissions to the site. Suddenly the site went dead. As in "page not found". Like the A-record is wrong, but it is definately okay, as shown by the control panel. I can still log in to the FTP, and I can still access the control panel. But the www gives "page not found". This sounds suspiciously like something on the server. After that I've downloaded Drupal 4.7.3 again, reinstalled all the files from scratch, with the exception of settings.php and the theme, checked the database (optimize, repair, etc.) and the site still doesn't work, so it's not Drupal related, I am sure of that. The site also works on my localhost. So I am not sure what could be wrong... It is now a week later, and the site is still down. I was hoping someone here has experienced something like this before and can tell me what I can do. The host is running Windows/IIS. Regards and thanks, Kobus

Stopping bandwidth-leeching from MySpace

One of my clients running an online community on top of Drupal is reporting that nearly 40% of their monthly bandwidth is used up by MySpace bandwifth-leechers. If the leechers on MySpace were linking directly to a JPG, GIF, etc. I would know how to stop this using .htaccess RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://(.+\.)?myspace\.com/ [NC,OR] RewriteRule .*\.(jpe?g|gif|bmp|png)$ - [F] But the problem is this particular Drupal installation uses the img_assist module which renders images like so: http://www.domain.com/img_assist/gen/1350 With no file suffix, which is required in the above .htaccess Rewrite example. Can someone help me with the correct regex for blocking bandwidth leeching for images rendered directly from the img_assist module. Thanks, Cameron Barrett http://www.camworld.com

custom breadcrumb question

I have a page (Articles & Reviews) that uses Views to display two lists of nodes, tagged with the terms Articles and Reviews, respectively. Currently, when viewing the individual nodes, the breadcrumbs just show ... Home ... but I'd like it to show ... Home >> Resources >> Articles & Reviews What is the best way to accomplish this? In digging through some modules in core to get some ideas, I thought the following approach might work. Create a new module that implements a nodeapi hook for view, with something like ... // if node has the "Articles" or "Reviews" taxonomy term (how do I check for this?) $breadcrumbs[] = l(t('Home'), NULL); $breadcrumbs[] = l(t('Resources'), 'resources'); $breadcrumbs[] = l(t('Articles & Reviews'), 'resources/ articles_and_reviews'); drupal_set_breadcrumb($breadcrumbs); $breadcrumb = theme('breadcrumb', drupal_get_breadcrumb()); Am on on the right track, or is there a better way?
