How do > i configure drupal to send mails to the specified email address If you can't log in to the site anymore and you haven't set it up properly yet, I believe you'll have to edit the database directly. You should find that in the variables table. There is also another possibility which I have never used before, but apparently you can overwrite all the items in the variables table by adding them to your settings.php file. You can test this by editing settings.php (typically in the sites/default folder), and see the commented section called 'conf' near the bottom. Uncomment that statement, and add the site_mail item to it as follows: $conf = array( 'site_mail' => 'your(a)address.here', ); If you still don't get the mail, you may have to edit the user table to confirm that your mail address for your account is correctly setup. You can edit that in the user table by using a tool such as phpMyAdmin. I hope this helps. Kobus

Hi, it looks like your web server setup prioritises html over php files. If you have access to your Apache's httpd.conf (or IIS configuration if you have Windows hosting) you need to change it there, I believe (I don't know exactly where - at least it will point you in some direction). I think Drupal's .htaccess will by default have this correctly configured, which makes me think that your host doesn't allow local .htaccess files. Perhaps it's a good thing to ask your host to look into this? Regards, Kobus

Hi I have installed drupal-4.7.2.tar.gz and created mysql username and password also in the MySQL Database Server. I am able to see the main page while I hit http://example.com/index.php The Issue i am facing is when i click on any of the links on the main page, it redirects to index.html only. For Example When I hit Create new account located on the left side of the main web page it redirects to index.html, the same is for rest of the links also. Am I missing something here,I know I am missing something but could not figure it out what I am missing Thanks in Advance Kaushal

different robots.txt files for one Drupal installation?

Greetings, I'm setting up several independent websites: www.myfamilywebsite.net www.myhobbieswebsite.org etc etc all off one drupal installation, placing settings, modules, themes etc.... in the proper sites/ subfolders. Fact is, I want some of those domains indexed by search engines, and other (for example myfamilywebsite.net) to be NOT indexed. How/what do I set up to make sure that myfamilywebsite.net sends a robots.txt files DISALLOWING robot spidering, while the other domain serve a *different* (indexing friendly) robot.txt? I understand that this is at least partly an http server thing, but (apart from knowing how it should be done at that level): is such a requirement compatible with one drupal installation? Or I will have to install and maintain one drupal for each domain? TIA, O.

how to make drupal admin section https only?

Greetings, I've just realized that (at least with default settings) the admin section of a drupal website is accessible via normal http, that is, I guess also the password when I login is transmitted in plain text. How do I make sure that all admin pages and those only, are sent via https, and that username and passwords are sent encrypted from the browser? TIA, O.

www.mysite.net security hole for mysite.net?

Hello, please help me, this is serious. some days ago I started to build a new website with Drupal 4.7.2 on Linux + Apache. I configured everything ( DNS, Apache, Drupal...) to work ONLY when connecting to http://mysite.net. Or so I believed. ten minutes ago I decided to continue building my website. Without thinking, I typed in the browser www.mysite.net and got the drupal page (with default theme) saying, more or less, "hello, this is the first connection, so this account will be administrator with password ..... Please configure" If I click on configure, I go to the administration page and can screw the website without entering a password! At the same time, if I type in the browser http://mysite.net I get to the website I configured (theme, etc...) and I _have_ to log in to change things. What is this? An error of mine, a Drupal/apache bug, both? How can I set things so that www.mysite.net goes to mysite.net, without believing that is a first visit, and that anybody can hack the site? TIA, O.
