phc obfuscate / drupal 7

Dear All I compiled phc in ubuntu 10.04 lts. Next I am trying to obfusace some php code (which is part of a drupal based code). I just tried obfuscating a single file using phc. It did work. But when I am trying to access my site, I get bunch of below errors. *Notice: Undefined variable: TSa200978216 in doc_search_my_form() (line 475 of /var/www/example.com/sites/all/modules/doc_search/doc_search.module). Notice: Undefined variable: TSa1454652404 in doc_search_my_form() (line 482 of /var/www/example.com/sites/all/modules/doc_search/doc_search.module). * Mostly these are variable undefined errors. When the file is in normal mode (having normal php code), it does not throw any error. When the file is in obfuscated mode , when I access my site I get lots of variable undefined error. Any idea what's wrong here. Thanks

Drupal Content Structure for Product Reviews

I hope this question is appropriate for this list, if not please point me in the right direction. What is the "right way" to build a community-oriented comparison system in Drupal 7? My primary question is do I need to hand-roll the DB code for this or is there a way to do it with existing modules? My secondary question if you have the energy, is how would you structure this in Drupal? The entities of my site are as follows. User classes: * Administrators (me <=1) * Analysts (trusted community moderators <100) * Authenticated Users (untrusted community content creators <2000) * Anonymous site visitors can view all of the reviews (billions of people :) Products: * product classes. (e.g. Cameras, Laptops, Mobile Phones, etc). There will be >500 product classes.Analysts can edit and manage product classes by adding product feature types, etc. * products (e.g. Nikon D7000, Canon EOS Rebel, etc) are an instance of a product class.Authenticated Users can add/edit products. * product features are the pre-defined set of features of a product class (e.g. Exposure Metering, Exposure Modes, White Balance, Max Shutter Speed, etc). These are administered by Analysts. * product feature types. Each product feature must be of a certain type like a star rating, text, price, number, url, etc. My initial solution was to create a custom content-type for each product class, then use drupal fields for the product features. My concern with this approach is that I don't know how to allow semi-trustedAnalysts to create and manage their own product classes and product feature types without giving them administrator privileges. Also, I imagine having hundreds of product classes and so it feels weird to have a custom content-type for each * product class*. I'm happy to do it the php-module way, or the pointy-clicky way. You'd think in all the time I've done Drupal I'd know how to do this. I want a front page to tell people to call so-and-so to register for the site. Beyond that, anonymous users need to be blocked for everything. If I turn off the "access published content" permission, they immediately get access denied. Doesn't matter what I call it which is why I went with rather obvious somename.ab or someothername.xy I was hoping to do the same on the remote server so that I could develop a site that would not be found by searchbots and the like. The issue I had/have on the shared server is that there is no /etc/hosts. I don't know how or to what the ISP has redirected apache. Roger

import data from moveable type

I am putting together a D7 site and want to export data from moveable type. There =is= a D6 module for this, but I don't see one for D7. Does anyone have a sense of what the best way to import such data into D7 might be? The two obvious paths, both painful, seem to be either importing the data to D6 then migrating D6 to D7, or exporting MT to CSV and using the Import module? Has anyone done either of these? You mention that we must own the domains and this is a problem as she wants to use the shared server to host 3 or 4 other sites for teachers who will have their own domain names, not yet established. It seems that one way is for each to have their own share on the server which means she will have to manage several drupal installs on different servers, something I wanted to avoid because each is a very simple requirement easily handled by a fairly basic drupal and a few modules. The other option offered by the ISP is to have the separate drupal installs on her share then have the domains as Add Ons. I'm not familiar with this - seems I must learn. Have no interest in example.com it is just mentioned in the drupal tutorials. I tried it and it doesn't work, no matter what I have in /hosts or /httpd.conf As for .ab and .xy these are my invention for practising on my home pc, I found the home pc it doesn't care what the domain is called as long as it has a name a dot and an extension of 2 or 3 letters, Drupal and apache don't care. Yes I agree, and have found the above to be very true. On the shared server there are real issues with updating core. The whole core update process is untidy and messy whether it is on shared server, VPS, VDS or local machine. On shared server I can't have files other than provided by the ISP. Database access and editing - general pointers wanted.

I've been doing web-based db work for man years but am new to drupal. I'm aware that drupal can access multiple databases. As a starting point, I want to be looking at modules that would facilitate 1) Viewing a database. 2) Form-based editing of rows (records) in a database 3) Form-based adding of rows (records) in a database and other features as well. I don't yet have a specific need, so I would welcome all and any references to existing modules that might be appropriate and useful. And you all have a great Holiday Season. Don't eat too much! You need to copy the database settings from settings.php into a text file, go into /settings.php and delete the database settings, line 203, next 15 lines. do an install by copy and pasting the user name and password into the "new install" from the text file. Go through the install process and it will find the database and the site should run as normal Also check that your files have the correct ownerships. Roger

jQuery 1.2.6 (Drupal 6) detected by Google as malicious

Hi, Since yesterday, our production sites are flagged as malicious sites by Google. After some research, it seems that the jQuery 1.2.6 from Drupal 6 is considered as malicious by Google. So, I have not find some topics about that, none on drupal.org, none on Google,...
