At the risk of sounding heretical :) you could also check out elgg -- their short term roadmap includes customizable profile pages and a dashboard widget that allows users to import content from a wide variety of sources.

Will get you 100% of the way there right now using Drupal. It requires some PHP work, but it's not hard and it's exactly what you want (since you create it).
