I tried installing that module, but it doesn't show up on the list with the other ones. I remember I used to have it installed a long time ago (I believe with 4.7) but deleted it shortly after. I removed everything pertaining to pathauto in the variables table, but it still doesn't show up. I've got another site that uses the same installation, and that site sees pathauto.
Any ideas?

Did you check the user Access permissions?
I did, but it doesn't show up there either. I'm not even seeing it listed in with the other modules.
