If you know HTML and some PHP you can edit page.tpl.php in your theme, find $logo and add your custom HTML to insert additional images to the header region around the $logo. Anoop
Thanks to Anoop and Ernie for the replys. I'm in no hurry, but looks like solution is to "fork" my existing theme (mayo) as a subtheme and apply custom code as above. cheers
