Hi,
I am not aware of such a module, however older versions of Drupal had this (pre version 4.2) - and there were a heck of a lot of reasons why they changed it, but I can't remember what those reasons were - I remember only the one that I had problems with, which was to display images inline. That was a huge burden for me, so I am glad that such an approach is not enforced anymore.
