What happens if you try to access the non-clean url version, i.e.: http://staging.example.com/drupal/?q=admin/settings/clean-urls
Non-clean URL versions load fine. I think I've identified a few other issues with my apache configurations. I'll post a full recap when I sort it out. More likely here: http://drupal.org/node/185956 than on this list (unless folks really want it on the list)
