Hi Lloyd, You can change the names of the web sites by changing the vhosts file and the hosts file. I always have to look this up to remember how to do it -- and there's posts on drupal.org that walk you through it. But there should be a vhosts file within your Apache files and a hosts file in your operating system files.

If you upload your files into a database that you create in MySQL, you just need to change your settings file (sites/default/settings.php) with the proper MySQL settings and you'll probably want to change your base url settings in the same file.

In general, for your purposes you can also just search for instructions on how to migrate a site, which is all you're doing w/ your backup.
