Can't you first read the README-file? It clearly says how you should install it...
I agree. The above error means you didn't run the automatic installer. I would say you should start again using the instructions I sent, and go through them one by one very carefully, and make sure to keep your DB names straight. CiviCRM will handle everything by itself, except the directory name.
