I followed this tutorial and was able to upload audio to my site.
As for the photo gallery, follow this link to a video tutorial from The Art Lab. Once again, I used this tutorial to set up an image gallery on my site. http://www.theartlab.net/drupal-school-009-maintainable-gallery
