At admin/reports/updates/settings you can receive email when an module update is available.
Yes, and it's how I know there are some updates available. But the mail does not contain the list of modules to update...
Also for D7 admin/reports/updates/update will give you a list of modules that need updated and nothing else.
Ah, D6 here... too bd but good to know things will be better under D7 with respect to this issue...
