Ubercart developers split recently, so there are now two projects: http://drupal.org/project/ubercart and the new http://drupal.org/project/commerce of Ryan Szrama
Magento is a third party integration, but is supposed to be a lot more powerful than Ubercart, but of course less integrated.

You might want to look at Magento: http://drupal.org/project/magento
Ubercart, I believe, is being rewritten for D7. So, I am hoping that will improve things.
