Or you could use a list mailer like ezmlm which is integrated into qmail (qmailrocks.org)

I'm not familiar with constantcontact, so I'll just say that I use
simplenews to send some newsletters and they work out relatively
well.
If you provide a list of the features that are important to you then
perhaps someone can help in narrowing the list of suggested modules.
